DOG TRAINING & BEHAVIOUR

Get to the root cause of your dogs behaviour

DOG TRAINING & BEHAVIOUR

Help your puppy become the well mannered dog you've always dreamed of.

LIFE WITH A DOG SHOULD BE FUN, IF IT ISNT SOMETHING IS WRONG

Have you worked with multiple dog trainers and behaviourists with limited results?

Does their behaviour outside make you despair and dread walking them? Are they pulling on the lead? Not coming back when you call them? Barking and lunging at dogs or people?

Or does their indoor behaviour embarrass you? Are they begging for food? Jumping up at guests? Does their constant barking annoy you? Are they destroying your house?

Living with a dog whose behaviour causes you stress and anxiety can greatly affect your life. I speak from first hand experience as I currently live with a dog who had an extremely difficult start in life.

With the correct approach however, your life needn't be filled with stress & anxiety.

A DIFFERENT APPROACH IS REQUIRED

My behaviour assessments are a little different as we incorporate the Dynamic Dog protocol. This means we take in all aspects of your dogs day to day life including their physical health which can be a major contributing factor to your dogs problematic behaviour.

The key to resolving this problematic behaviour is to understand the underlying reason(s) for it. Without properly understanding your dog's behaviour, we cannot properly resolve it.

That is where my tailored 1 to 1 training programs come in.

By working together, we can understand your dog's behaviour, implement simple changes designed to help you.

When working with me, you are committing to training your dog with ethical, positive reinforcement training techniques. That means we will NOT use training tools such as shock collars, corrective spray, force or fear.

I do not offer 1 off sessions, for one reason.

Changing behaviour takes time and requires commitment.

If you’re willing to make that commitment, I’d love to hear from you.

SUMMER'S REVIEW

"Anthony visited us after we found our puppy (about 9 months at the time) was inexplicably restless, very demanding of attention and losing discipline on walks. What was immediately clear is that Anthony has a genuine adoration for dogs, and the wellbeing of the dog is his absolute top priority when assessing them. His approach was highly consultative with us to understand the challenges we highlighted, our lifestyle, and how we were going about our day with the puppy. He is masterful and gentle in the way he assessed our puppy for her behaviour and after he diagnosed what he felt the issues were, he created a plan to address them.

Anthony shares techniques with you in person and follows up afterward with written explanations. He also makes a point of being available by text or mobile for any questions, and proved to be very responsive. He commits himself to improving the wellbeing of your dog. Using the techniques and games Anthony recommended, we noticed big improvements in our puppy’s behaviour. She became less demanding, more settled and better on walks.

Additionally, Anthony picked up on what he thought was physical discomfort in one of her legs and that which could be contributing to her behaviour. The signs of this were completely imperceptible to everybody else - and given her active nature, you would have no inclination that she was in any physical discomfort. Anthony conducted an investigation based on many photos and videos and generated a report combining this with her behaviour, which we have been able to share with our vet. The vet confirmed she does have a physical issue that is probably causing her pain, and we are investigating this medically further.

We are incredibly grateful for Anthony for picking up on this while she is so young. We will hopefully now find a solution that will have prevented years of possible pain, all because he picked up on the very subtle physical signs."

dog Training & behaviour FAQ's

How long are the training sessions?

The initial session is 2 hours and follow-up training sessions are an hour.

What training methods do you use?

I only use positive reinforcement & science led techniques. This means that the methods you'll learn will NOT cause your dog pain, fear or harm. These methods focus on long-term behaviour change, helping you resolve your dogs behaviour once and for all.

What if I need more sessions?

You'll have the ability to book additional sessions, via our online booking service. These sessions will be at the default rate of £75 per session. These additional sessions can be paid in instalments.

Where do the sessions take place?

The initial session usually takes place at your home (if safe to do so). Follow-up sessions will take place in locations that are suitable for the issues you are looking to resolve.

What do you mean by a bespoke training plan?

Simply put, what works for one owner might not work for the next one. The same applies to dogs too! Bespoke training will take your puppy individualism (personality, breed & temperament) into account, along with your wants, environment and learning style.

Why is the Dynamic Dog Assessment included?

It's not always a limp or a whine! Pain related behaviour is extremely complex. Dogs don't often show that they are in discomfort in ways we would usually expect, it is often subtle and goes unnoticed for weeks, months and even years! In a recent study carried out in Lincoln University by Daniel Mills, it was found that approximately 80% of dogs that presented with behavioural issues had some form of undiagnosed pain that was a direct cause or adding to a problematic behaviour.
