Force-Free Dog Behaviourist

Living with a dog who struggles with the world around them can be incredibly stressful and at times, deeply frustrating.

Whether they’re easily startled by noises, constantly on edge, or react unpredictably to things that seem minor to others, it can feel like you’re always bracing for the next meltdown.

You’re probably here because your dog’s behaviour has become worrying, maybe even a little more serious than you’d like to admit.  Whether it’s a recent event or just a buildup of things over time, you’ve reached the point where something needs to change.

I know how that feels!

Having owned a very anxious Belgian Shepherd named Tywin, I know how frustrating and worrying it is to share your life with a dog who struggles with aspects of day to day life.  It’s very easy to believe life will always be this way but with the right help and support, things can get better.

That’s why I created the ‘Beyond Behaviour Programme’, to give owners the guidance and support I wish I’d had when I was struggling with Tywin  It’s a holistic & force-free programme, designed to help owners understand the root cause(s) of their dog’s anxiety and achieve lasting behaviour change with a tailored behaviour pathway.

CASE STUDY

Bentley, the anxious Belgian Malinois

When I started working with Bentley, he was struggling with multiple aspects of day to day life;

  • Very anxious around other dogs after being attacked.

  • Struggling to settle around visitors

  • Pulling on the lead

  • Nervous around traffic

  • Struggles with impulsivity & frustration

Over 4 months, we were able to reduce Bentley's anxiety and give him specific skills to cope with being around traffic.  We used Tywin to help him adjust to being around other dogs and created a predictable routine for visitors.

"I would like to thank Anthony for helping me and my dog Bentley. He's not stressed, more relaxed and happier."

BEYOND BEHAVIOUR PROGRAMME

How It Works

This is the programme I wished existed when I was struggling with my own dog.

It’s structured and comprehensive, but never one-size-fits-all, designed to identify the root causes of your dog’s behaviour and guide you through lasting, meaningful change.

  • A two-hour, in-person session where we explore every aspect of your dog’s daily life and behaviour.

  • Because pain can influence behaviour, we assess movement and posture to identify any areas of discomfort.

  • A review of your dog’s medical history to identify any factors that may be influencing their behaviour.

  • A detailed look at how your dog manages stress, arousal, frustration, and impulsivity.

How to calm an anxious dog

Why choose me?

Not only am I an experienced dog behaviourist but I also have first had experience of life with an anxious dog.

Tywin was a Belgian Shepherd, who we rescued at 5 months of age.  Sadly, he hadn't had a nice start in life, which made him very nervous and a chronic injury, that amplified everything.

Fortunately, we were able to work through everything and he became my work dog, helping other dogs overcome their issues.

This experience showed me just how important a holistic approach to resolving dog behavioural issues is and how stressful life with an anxious dog can be.
