I offer in person Rescue Preparation sessions across Surrey, West Sussex, & Kent, covering areas such as Banstead, Caterham, Coulsdon, Copthorne, Crawley, Dorking, East Grinstead, Edenbridge, Epsom, Godstone, Haywards Heath, Horley, Horsham, Leatherhead, Lingfield, Oxted, Redhill, Reigate, Smallfield, Sevenoaks, Warlingham, & Westerham.

If you’re a little further afield, I may still be able to visit. This is agreed on a case by case basis & may include an additional mileage charge. If you’re not within travelling distance, you can still book the service online & receive the same resources, support, & guidance remotely.

It’s best to book before your rescue dog arrives, ideally a week or two in advance. This gives you time to prepare your home, set up safe spaces, & adjust routines so everything is ready from the moment they arrive. That said, if your dog is already with you, the session can still be hugely valuable. Many owners find that the sooner they start applying the strategies, the smoother the settling in process becomes, whether that’s on day one or a few weeks later.

No one can ever guarantee that a dog’s transition into a new home will be completely smooth. Every rescue is unique, & their history, temperament, & environment all play a role in how they adapt. It wouldn’t be fair on you or your dog to suggest otherwise.

What I can guarantee is that you’ll have a proactive, structured approach to settling your rescue, with guidance rooted in years of experience helping overseas rescue dogs. This means you’ll be better equipped to avoid common pitfalls, reduce stress, & respond calmly & confidently to any challenges that arise. While I can’t promise a perfect journey, I can promise you won’t be facing it alone.

I only use force free, positive reinforcement methods. This means all the techniques I recommend focus on rewarding desired behaviours, creating positive associations, & reducing fear or stress. No punishment, intimidation, or outdated “quick fixes” are ever used.

Positive reinforcement is the most effective & ethical approach, especially for rescue dogs who may have had difficult past experiences. It helps them build trust in their new family, feel safe in their environment, & learn at their own pace. The result is a calmer, more confident dog & a stronger bond between you & your new companion.

By combining the practical two hour session with follow up materials & support, you’ll feel confident & supported throughout the early stages of your journey together.

The Learning Hub is your online resource centre, designed to support everything we cover in your Rescue Preparation session. It includes step by step guides, practical checklists, & easy to follow resources that walk you through the settling in process — from preparing your home before arrival to managing the first night, building trust, reducing stress, & avoiding common pitfalls.

The hub is available for you to revisit anytime, so you don’t have to worry about remembering everything from the session. It’s there as a reference & a safety net, giving you confidence that you always have expert guidance at your fingertips as your rescue adjusts to their new life.

Absolutely. If you’re not in Surrey, West Sussex, or Kent, you can still access Rescue Preparation online. The online service includes the same tailored advice, access to the learning hub, & ongoing support via email or WhatsApp. Many clients outside my in person area choose this option & find it just as effective for preparing their home & routines in advance.
