About Me

I’ve lived with a challenging dog

When Tywin came into my life, I had dreams of long, off lead walks and lots of playing with other dogs. When he started to bark & lunge at traffic, people, and other dogs. I knew I needed help.

Trying to find the appropriate help proved harder than it should’ve been, and I ended up confused and not knowing what to do for the best.

That is when I decided to enrol with PACT & IMDT to improve my skills & knowledge, so I could help Tywin.

I’m pleased to announce that Tywin has made so much progress that he now comes to work with me and helps with other dogs. Tywin is a poster child for just how effective, ethical & positive reinforcement training can be. Find out more here.

As I’ve continued to study, I found a passion for working with families & their dogs.

This resulted in my furthering my skills by studying with Kids around Dogs, Family Paws and more.

I am constantly working to improve my knowledge and skills, so that you can receive the most up to date training advice.

Working with you

Having lived with a nervous & reactive dog, I know how stressful & frustrating it can be when they bark and lunge at other dogs. I know how embarrassing it can be when your dog’s behaviour results in unwanted advice from other owners. I know how confusing it can be to get conflicting advice from multiple sources.

I know because I’ve been there myself.

That’s why I started Buttons & Leash Dog Training & Behaviour. Life with your dog shouldn’t be stressful, nor should training them. That is why I have built Buttons & Leash to work for you. That means a convenient booking system, community Facebook group, online training academy and our own app!

If you decide to work with me, I promise that I will do the best for you and your dog. That means I will give you the best and most realistic training advice to help you. I won’t judge you for previous mistakes or intimidate you into doing things you are uncomfortable with.
